Coronavirus (COVID-19)

The global coronavirus pandemic has created an unprecedented situation, and our thoughts are with our participants and their families in these very challenging times. We hope you are all safe and well, and taking care of those around you.

At present, Immerse Education remains fully operational, and the summer programmes are proceeding as planned. We are working closely with our host colleges to ensure that all participants and staff are kept as safe as possible whilst following UK official advice and legislation.

We continue to accept enrolments and look forward to welcoming all our participants to Cambridge, Oxford, Sydney and London this summer.

Are the Immerse Education programmes running in 2023?

Yes! 2022 summer programmes were a resounding success. 2023 Immerse Education summer programmes are fully operational, and the summer programmes are proceeding as planned.

We continue to accept new enrolments and look forward to welcoming participants to Cambridge, Oxford, Sydney and London this summer.

We are constantly reviewing the latest information to guide our processes and policies. Staff and student welfare is our highest priority, and we are adhering to all government advice and legislation. 

Will I need to take COVID tests before I can attend my programme?

From 4am Friday 18 March 2022, all COVID-19 travel restrictions are lifted, including all tests for passengers who do not qualify as vaccinated. This change, therefore, removes the need for unvaccinated passengers to take a pre-departure test and a day 2 post arrival test.

Travellers should continue to check GOV.UK guidance on travelling to England to keep up to date with other countries’ entry requirements.

What do I need to prepare before travel?

From 4am Friday 18 March 2022, you do not need to complete a UK passenger locator form before you travel, take any COVID-19 tests or quarantine when you arrive in England.

What is your coronavirus cancellation policy?

From 4am Friday 18 March 2022, all COVID-19 travel restrictions are lifted.

All participants are expected to attend as planned, and our standard terms and conditions apply if cancelling.

If you simply wish to amend your programme dates or subject, please send an email to enquiries@immerse.education outlining the changes, and we will accommodate this where possible.

What happens if I was due to attend the summer 2021 programme but chose to defer due to COVID-19?

We have now contacted all COVID-19 deferrals about their options.

If you have not received an email – please contact advisor@immerse.education as soon as possible.

What measures is Immerse taking to keep participants safe during the programme?

The safety and wellbeing of our staff and participants is our highest priority. We are constantly monitoring the latest advice and acting in accordance with this to complement our existing set of robust policies and procedures to ensure participant welfare. The following points will give you an idea of the measurements we have in place for the residential programme.

  • On-site Policy
    • Face masks are available to all students and staff.
    • The college does regular deep cleaning of social spaces.
    • Hand sanitiser available across campuses.
  • In the event of a positive test, we will follow the steps advised by the UK government:
    • Mandatory quarantine in a bedroom.
    • All meals delivered to the bedroom.
    • Immediate quarantine and testing of others who have been in contact with the person.
    • Anyone who returns a negative test will not have to continue quarantine.

We also have established relationships with local health care professionals in addition to access to world-leading hospitals and health advice.

Will my child be sharing a room with another participant?

No. All our accommodation is single occupancy, and this has always been our policy. You can find further information about our accommodation on our general FAQ page.

Will Immerse be able to assist me with mandatory self-isolation or quarantine in advance of the programme?

From 4am Friday 18 March 2022, you do not need to quarantine when you arrive in England.
